I’m so happy you found your way here! I created Springbook because I needed it and now I want to share it with you.

As a professional organizer for 20 years, and as the only child who stepped in for both of my parents, I know what it’s like when something unexpected happens to someone you love. I also know what it’s like when no one has thought to plan ahead.

My father’s sudden death at 56 taught me that you’re never too young to be ready and how hard it is to start with no information. When the coroner returned his briefcase, there was a large envelope inside with my name on it. I held my breath as I opened it. Inside were his old divorce papers and nothing else. Even a sticky note that said “I love you, Dust” would have meant everything. I decided right then that I would do better.

Caring for my mom through 20 years of dementia taught me something else: even organized files don’t tell you what’s current, what’s closed, or who to call. As I combed through her home office for every detail I needed to manage her affairs, I confirmed again that there had to be a better way. And I knew I didn’t want to leave my husband or my kids on the same stressful search. So I started building my Mom Binder.

A friend’s father kept a similar binder that he called his “Death Book.” I loved the idea of being prepared, just from a more hopeful place. I named mine Springbook: something your family can use to spring into action in a new season of life with a boost of confidence.

Springbook was born from my love of creating order out of chaos and my hope to do better for my family. I have a knack for organizing, firsthand experience running someone else’s life, and a penchant for being prepared. I can’t wait to share it all with you, so your family is never left wondering where to begin.
